I am  a medical technologist and I belong to five black cats and one husband.   I enjoy playing poker, gardening, arts and crafts, reading, old movies and travel and I have about twelve years invested in research of my family history.  I am a native Texan with family in Texas since 1836.

As for what I like to read:  historical fiction and non-fiction concerning especially Revolutionary War era, Texas history, Virginia history.  I also like romances of historical couples:  Napoleon and Josephine, Czar Nicholas,etc. and fictional historical romances and western novels.  One of my most favorite series is the "Lonesome Dove" set:  "Dead Man's Walk", "Comanche Moon", " Lonesome Dove" and "Streets of Laredo".  And, I am interested in non-fiction reading concerning the Southeast American Indians before the Trail of Tears.   That's just what I like to read but the truth is, I read everything I get my hands on. 

Reading for me is a magic carpet.  It expands my imagination, teaches me, brightens my day, lets me escape and sometimes puts me to sleep and I am most thankful for this blessing.
